Whether you're buying a used vehicle, moving to Ontario, or driving for ride-hailing services such as Uber, Lyft, Hopp, or a local taxi provider — your vehicle must pass an Ontario Safety Standards Inspection to ensure it meets the province's road-safety regulations.
At TRUE ADAS Solutions Canada, we perform licensed Ontario Safety Inspections using the latest diagnostic technology and precise inspection procedures. Our certified technicians follow Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) guidelines to verify your vehicle's roadworthiness and compliance with current Ontario Regulation 611 under the Highway Traffic Act.
Our inspection process evaluates all major safety components to determine whether your vehicle meets Ontario's mandatory safety standards.
If your vehicle passes, you'll receive an official Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) — a document required by ServiceOntario for vehicle registration or ownership transfer.
If any issues are identified, our team will provide a detailed report outlining the required repairs before certification.
You'll need an Ontario Safety Inspection in the following situations:
Used vehicle transactions in Ontario
Transferring vehicle ownership (except between spouses)
Registering vehicles after moving to Ontario
Uber, Lyft, Hopp, or commercial taxi services
Vehicles previously branded unfit
A TRUE ADAS Solutions Canada Safety Inspection covers every major component that affects your vehicle's safety and performance:
If your vehicle includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) — such as lane departure warning or collision avoidance — we also perform a sensor verification and calibration check to confirm your safety technology is operating properly.
Typical inspection fees in Ontario range depending on the type, size, and condition of your vehicle. This fee covers labor for the inspection itself.
If repairs or adjustments are required to meet safety standards, those costs will be quoted separately. TRUE ADAS Solutions Canada provides a transparent estimate before any work begins, ensuring you understand exactly what's needed for certification.
Once your vehicle passes, the Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) is valid for 36 days from the date of inspection. If you do not register or transfer ownership within that time, a new inspection may be required.
The inspection fee does not include:
The cost of repairs or parts required to bring your vehicle up to standard
Any diagnostic testing or recalibration beyond the standard safety checklist
Our team will provide a detailed estimate and explanation of any additional services needed before proceeding.
